Inventory
v1.0
The Inventory page shows live WFS stock levels for every SKU that has a mapping between Shopify and Walmart. This page requires your Walmart account to be connected.
Inventory summary cards
At the top of the page, two cards provide a quick health check:
• Critical (0 stock) — the number of SKUs with zero available-to-sell units
• Low Stock — the number of SKUs below your configured low inventory threshold (default: 10 units)
Inventory table
The table shows one row per mapped SKU with the following columns:
• Column: Description
• Product: Shopify product name
• Walmart SKU: The Walmart item SKU
• Available: Units available to sell right now
• Inbound: Units in transit to Walmart's warehouses
• Reserved: Units allocated to open orders
• Status: OK (green) / LOW (yellow) / CRITICAL (red)
You can search within the table by product name or Walmart SKU using the search field.
Syncing inventory
Click Sync Now to fetch the latest quantities from Walmart immediately. The last sync time is displayed above the search field.
Inventory also syncs automatically as part of the regular background sync cycle.
Why inventory sync matters for MCS
Inventory sync is not just about keeping Shopify up to date — it is a requirement for MCS fulfillment to work. Shopify only routes a fulfillment order to the Walmart Fulfillment Services location if that product shows available inventory at that location. If inventory sync is turned off or a product has zero stock, Shopify will not send fulfillment requests to the app for that product.
Configuring the low inventory threshold
The threshold that determines when a SKU shows as LOW (rather than OK) is configured in Settings → Inventory & Catalog → Low inventory threshold. The default is 10 units.
Enabling or disabling inventory sync
To turn the automatic inventory sync on or off, go to Settings → Inventory & Catalog and toggle Sync WFS inventory to Shopify.
⚠️ Note: Disabling inventory sync will cause Shopify inventory at the Walmart Fulfillment Services location to become stale. This can prevent MCS fulfillment from working if stock levels drop to zero in Shopify even when Walmart has stock available.
